Terminal Breach

It’s said that, if you hear “in terms of” 23 times in 23 hours on the 23rd of the month, the ghost of William Burroughs will appear and offer you a heroin enema.

I don’t know whether this is true.

    • “Glaciers are key icons…” Guardianese! But “keyly core / corely key icons” would have been even better.

…the InTerminator, half human, half English grad student.

The InTerminator appears if you hear “in terms of” 529 (23*23) times in 23 hours. It’s the larval state of the Ex-Term-Inator, which appears after 12167 (23^3) “in terms of” (heard or chanted):

There was a movement in the air about him, such a swirl as is made in water when some creature rises to the surface. A nameless, freezing wind blew on him briefly, as if from an opened Door. Thoth felt a presence at his back, but he did not look about. He kept his eyes fixed on the moonlit space of marble, on which a tenuous shadow hovered. As he continued his whispered incantations, this shadow grew in size and clarity, until it stood out distinct and horrific. Its outline was not unlike that of a gigantic baboon, but no such baboon ever walked the earth, not even in Stygia. — Robert E. Howard, “The Phoenix on the Sword” (1932).
